LA Parent,
How dare you call me a liar when all these incidents were documented at LAUSD and e-mailed to Prop 39. I understand its hard to face the fact that the individuals you trusted you childs education to have maliciously and purposely lied to ALL their parents. They shook off the dirt and threw it on Stoner parents and LAUSD.. when in true honesty it was their incompetence that had them evicted from our school…

Westside Parent,
Ok we made mistakes too.But the difference is that we at Stoner try to abid by the rules an fix our mistakes while CWC just continues to make excuses..One incident with Allision the CWC gate was left open while i was in my volunteer group and we all 26 mother went to guard the gate while amy came and this is how the conversation went…ME : Allison your gate is open and no oneis watching it..ALLISIONN: sorry it wonnt happen again..ME: please we just had a shooting not to long ago and the gate is open anyone could walk on in…ALLISON: well you guys leave it open on Tuesday after 1:30…ME: yeah we have early dismissal on Tuesdays…ALLISON:well what ever in her irish accent…..wow now i get
It was done out of revenge…How could i be so naive and not see it then….REALLY PUTTING CHILDREN IN HARMS WAY?????WOW

Westside Parent,
LAUSD is not kicking them out if ALLISON and AMY had complied and filled out the necessary paperwork, even with the protest and all the documented incidents that happened they would of been able to stay. Therefor thank them for their negligence. They are the only ones responsible..How dare they blame our residents and LAUSD for their incopentance….

That is a very good question. Why DID the CWC admin hire a lawyer to write a letter to the LAUSD after Amy Held didn’t fill out the paperwork for only 1 out of their 3 LA schools?

I think it’s theatrics because they don’t have a legal leg to stand on in terms of getting back into Stoner. I think the goal was to get out if Stoner but have you, the CWC parents think the LAUSD is pushing you out.

These people were fighting CWC even before Stoner was chosen as the co-location site.

I noticed that every single one of them is white. And several of them have sent their own kids to private school or gifted magnets, which segregate the brightest kids from the general school population. (How many low-income minority kids and special needs kids are in Braddock’s gifted magnet?) So you have a bunch of lily white people opposed to allowing low-income minority kids a choice and a chance to escape persistently failing schools. Who are the segregationists here? People of color often support charter schools because people of color are the ones stuck with the crappy teachers that rich, white parents push out of neighborhood schools. My child is a biracial kid with special needs, and a lot of the kids at CWC look like my child. One of CWC’s kids is a Make a Wish kid who has had 19 surgeries, including two open heart surgeries, and attends school with a nurse. This is who LAUSD is kicking out

Charter schools use public funds, but that doesn’t make them public. They are run by privately managed boards with little or no accountability to their own parents, let alone the public.

Charter schools operate like independent contractors. For example, a privately run prison make take all publicly determined criminals and use tax dollars, but it is not a public prison. Blackwater is paid for by tax dollars, but it is not public either.

This is pretty simple logic anyone could figure out. If the other CWC schools had filed on May 9 and not May 1, the lawyer would have mentioned that in their letter, don’t you think?

Then why did CWC lawyers send the letter fighting LAUSD’s decision?

Charter students are public school students, and schools are owned by taxpayers. Those against Prop 39 are against the concept of sharing. Didn’t we learn to share in kindergarten? Stoner was half empty. Why let that space go to waste, when the district can make money renting to a charter?

The gate is left open by Stoner on many days, not just Tuesdays.

Lorena, how do you know CWC filed the paperwork for its other locations on time? Do you work for the district?

You are against sharing a half empty campus? Didn’t we all learn to share in preschool?

Im a Stoner parent and even with the peaceful protest and all the incidents that were documented and sent to LAUSD and Prop 39 we would not have been able to have CWC leave our campus.BUT thanks to ALLISON and AMY with there help by not meeting the deadline they helped us out..So i want to take the time and acknowledge them for there help in resolving these issues…Job well done ladies…..

Have you been to Germany? Do you know its history? Schools have a right to co-locate. No civil rights are being violated. The unused space belongs to the city – which taxpayers help fund. It’s economical. It saves taxpayers money. Why should un-used space go wasted?

I am a parent at CWCMV and have volunteered by organizing special events for CWCMV this year. I also offered to organize special events for CWCMV and Stoner jointly throughout the year. We asked Stoner students to join us on a visiting puppet show. I offered to have a bilingual Spanish musician come and give a performance for both Stoner and CWCMV children. I also contacted a safety organization to have a joint safety presentation. All of the offers were either refused or canceled by Stoner administrators – one even last minute. For me, while my child may be at CWCMV, we care for children and could care less which actual school children are attending. I personally have always said hello to Stoner families. I know others have as well. I am really disgusted that young children from Stoner families were mis-informed and were used and encouraged to scream, “Go away Citizens of the World!” What do you think that does to their emotional intelligence? How does that help them understand differences? I have been targeted by neighbors – who have actually followed and waited to see which gate I am going to enter and then yelled at me for being a CWCMV parent – in front of Stoner children.

You are seriously comparing Prop 39 to the Brown case? Oh that is so phony. The fact is if you want to start your own school, find your own space. It violates the civil rights of regular public school students who can’t use their entire campus and it becomes divided like East and West Germany. It is absurd. There is plenty of open space and buildings you can rent so if you want your own school so badly then rent a space and pay for it.
