I didn’t make much money but I was treated well. Deasy and his new army for admin treat teachers like trash. Deasy and the corporate “reformers” have brainwashed the public that corporations care more about students and teachers are the greedy ones. The corporate reformers repeat over and over again things like “reform” and “civil rights” but its just a smokescreen to destroy public education and make corporations billions. And the city’s newspaper, the LA Times, refuses to expose these “reformers.”

The reform agenda is working perfectly: Destroy public education.

I board says “willful defiance” is a student refusing to take off his hat. That’s not what it is at all. It is a student refusing to stop yelling across the room, then cusses out the teacher, then refuses to leave the classroom, then kicks a trash can in the room, then cusses out the campus aid that came to pick them up, then it goes on and on and it happens a few times a week. What can a school do about this student? Nothing. S/he destroys the learning environment and all the students suffer. Charters can kick them out and they do. Thanks Deasy–no wonder more and more kids are going to charters–they can kick out the defiant kids traditional school cannot even suspend.
